I still have not flown my Eagle II with the O.S. .26 4-stroke on it. Has it been that long? Wow - I really need to fly!

I just sold some of my old glow engines on eBay. I sold the K&B .40 with Perry pump and carb, plus the tuned pipe that I got along with it so many year ago. I originally paid $50 total for both of them. I sold the engine for $44 (I think) and the pipe for $31. So, I made a little money on that deal. And I never once used the engine or the pipe! But the guy who bought the engine said it was a good one - he was very pleased. I wish I knew as much about the engine as he did, or I would have promoted it better and received a better price.

Oh, well.

I sold four other engines to ONE GUY who won all four of the auctions. I sold the original Super Tigre S-40 I ever owned, plus another Super Tigre S-40 that flew on my Trainer 40 (before it crashed) and the Super Tigre GS-40 that never did run right, but flew on my delta. The fourth engine was a K&B Stallion .35 control line engine that was in pieces when I got it so many years ago, and was still in pieces when I sold it. It should be a good engine, though.

Anyway, the guy who got them got them all for less than $100. He got a deal! But he's really happy with them and has been reporting their status to me. Apparently, my original engine (the one that ran and ran and ran for me and carries some sentimental value and that I almost decided not to sell) still runs! He said he fired it up and it ran great. He also said the GS-40 was super finicky (I knew that), but that he took the carburetor off the S-40 and put it on the GS-40 and it ran "EXCELLENT".

Man, did I screw up selling these engines?

Nah, I'm happy someone is using them. I don't know if and when I will ever get around to flying a glow engine again after using diesel. I'd rather just stick to the diesel. However, it would have been cool to stick the original S-40 back on my original Stick 40 airplane and fly it. I think it is coming up on 20 or 21 years old!

Wow. It really brings back memories! The engine in the picture was the second S-40 I owned - which looks identical to the first - but now has a diesel head on it. Ready to fly - I just haven't flown it that way, yet!

The other S-40 that the guy bought ran OK, but was not happy in the idle zone. It would sputter and die. As far as the K&B Stallion .35, I haven't heard anything about it, yet.

Anyway, I think it is about time I started flying again. I am going to get serious about making a trailer I can tow with my bicycle to carry a plane out to this spot I am thinking of trying. I guess I'll find out if I am allowed to fly there or not. I'll just do it and see what happens. :-)
